BODEGAS ABADIA LA ARROYADA

Ribera del Duero

Vicente Muñoz Muñoz is the founder of Bodegas Abadía la Arroyada. He descends from a family with a long tradition in Viticulture. His grandfather, Vicente Muñoz, was already dedicated at the beginning of the 20th century to making large quantities of wine that he later sold among the inhabitants of the area. Some of the vines planted by this first Vicente Muñoz are still used today to make some of the best Abadía la Arroyada wines.

Later, Vicente Muñoz's parents, Lucila and Julián, worked for many years in the vineyards that they inherited and many others that they planted to make wines that were later tasted in the towns near Terradillos de Esgueva, having great success among the inhabitants of these towns. , and of vacationers who came in the holidays.

As it could not be otherwise, Vicente Muñoz continued this path, first taking care of the vineyards belonging to his family and later planting many others until reaching the current production area of 20 hectares. At first, unable to carry out the project of founding a winery, he had to sell the grapes, but after a while he decided, in 2002, to embark on the adventure of making his own wines, and supported by his wife, Teresa Samaniego, and through his children Ignacio and Ángela, founded Bodegas Abadia la Arroyada.
