OVID VINEYARDS

California

Ovid [Publius Ovidius Naso] was a Roman poet who lived from 43 BC – 17 AD.  His most famous work, Metamorphoses, is a poetic retelling of the Greek myths, celebrating the themes of transformation and change.

Since winemaking is about transformation from grapes to something more sublime, that forms one connection.  Our admiration for the art and culture of the Romans, who had so much figured out so long ago, forms another.  The works of Ovid, rich and timely yet steeped in tradition, continue to speak to us.

We aim to embody our classical theme in everything we do.  We value long-lasting relationships and sustainable methods in farming and winemaking, all with the goal of creating a wine estate that will endure and flourish.
