MASSICAN WINERY

Napa Valley, California

At Massican we share our pursuit and love of unique and memorable white wines. Inspired by our roots in Italy, the Massican wines are made in Napa Valley, California.

Massican brings the refreshing, bright style of Mediterranean white wines to California winemaking.

At Massican we look back to go forward. Massican is named after Monte Massico, the coastal mountain range in southern Italy where our founders are from. The Massican hills garnered mythological wine-fame when Bacchus took refuge with a farmer named Falernus. So enamored with his host’s generosity, Bacchus cultivated his hillside fields into the most sought after white wine grapes in all of Italy.

In California we cultivate six white wine grape varieties in and around Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Four of the grape varieties trace their origins to Italy – Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Pinot Grigio and Greco.  Two of the grape varieties, although no strangers to Italy, are more widely known throughout the world – Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

From these California grapes we make four distinct wines, each channeling the Italian style of refreshing Mediterranean white wines.
